Sue works in various media including pastel, watercolour, acrylic and charcoal, taking her inspiration from rural life - animals, figures, landscapes, plants.
A self taught artist who has produced most of her work in tne last 10 years.
Sensitively composed work, full of life and light based on skills built up from a lifetime of drawing and observation.
She grew up in Dorset & the New Forest and for the last 27 years has lived in North Dorset with her husband where they built up & ran a specialist plant centre and raised 3 sons. Here she designed a series of illustrated plant information cards that were used in garden centres nationally.
Most of her working life has been spent in horticulture having studied at Wye College/Imperial College (University of London). A brief spell in landscape design and also as Head Gardener at Kingston Lacy, Wimborne, before the National Trust took ownership. She has also been a sales executive and designer for a group of Sussex nurseries and is a director of Orchard Park Garden Centre.
Sue now works mainly as an artist but still has a keen interest in horticulture
